About the character:
Lursa is more cunning than her little sister B'Etor.
The Duras family has for several generations been powerful in the
klingon home world, as they have succeeded in hiding their corrupt
working methods. Worf makes his
acquaintance with the Duras, when he wants to clear his fathers
name for accusations of treachery, which in fact is commited by
the father of the Duras sisters.
The sisters get away when their opponent Gowron wins the civil
war, and they do not show until a year after on the space station
Deep Space Nine ("Past Prologue" (3)), where they try
to finance an army, that can put them back into power. Their last
attempt in that connection is fatal and greed their misfortune (Star
Trek: Generations).
About the actor:
The character B'Etor is created for the TV series "Star Trek:
The Next Generation", in which she is in direct opposition
with Worf, who tries to save the klingon home world in the two part
episode "Redemption" (100/101). The producers let the
character die in the movie Star Trek:
Generations.
