About the character:
Alexander is born in 2366 as the son of K'Ehleyr and Worf,
the mother KEhleyr half klingon half human, and the father
Worf only klingon. Worf do not know he has a son before K'Ehleyr
visits the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D ("Reunion" (81)).
Alexander has his first name Rozhenko after his fathers foster
parents, two humans, and that fits with his wishes to become more
human than klingon. A thought, that surely is fed by the mother
that did not like the klingon rituals and way of living, which she
found brutal and violent. When the mother dies ("Reunion"
(81)), he is to live with his father who wants Alexander to live
by the klingon laws, rituals and norms. In those situations, when
they cannot solve their problems, ships counsellor Deanna
Troi is to help them move on.
But in the end it is still too much for Worf to take, and he
lets his foster parents to bring up the boy on Earth ("Family"
(76)), which they do until they no longer can control him ("New
Ground" (110)).
About the actor:
It is as Alexander Rozhenko in "Star Trek: The Next Generation"
Brian Bonsall is known, but a longer job was his appearance in the
remaining three seasons of "Family Ties". In his career
he has also made several TV movies.
With some friends in 1998 Brian Bonsall starts the band Late
Bloomers, and if they should break up, he wishes most of all to
make a career in music. On his 18th birthday in 1999 Brian Bonsall
gets a tatoo of a black armband.
Alexander Rozhenko is also played by Jon
Paul Steuer ("Reunion" (81)) and James
Sloyan ("Firstborn" (173)), but it is Brian Bonsall that has
played the character most times. A character, that was created to
give the Worf character a depth and to make it possible to show
a klingon facade which not previously has been seen before. Brian
Bonsall's appearing in the character is when Alexander returns to
the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D. Twice is Alexander Rozhenko also
appearing in another Star Trek TV series, "Star Trek: Deep
Space Nine", where he is played by Marc
Worden.
