Jake Sisko
[Season 1 - 7]

About the character:
The teen-ager Jake Sisko is the son of the commanding officer on the space station Deep Space Nine, commander Benjamin Sisko, and cannot remember what life is like on Earth. He has throughout his childhood been on board four different space ships, wherever his father was in duty. The mother dies during the big borg attack in our solar system ("The Emissary" (1/2), the same battle that can be seen in the "Star Trek: The Next Generation" episode "The Best of Both Worlds" (74/75)) and father and son gain a stronger relationship.

Arrived at the space station he soon finds what becomes his best friend, the ferengi Nog. It is not a friendship his father agree of, as the Federation only has experience with ferengis as selfish beings.

At first it seems that Jake will make a career in Starfleet as his father, but eventually he takes an interest in writing and composing.
