About the character:
Harry Kim is born in 2349 on Earth. In the age of 9 he and his parents
visits a colony exposed to radioactive radiation from an accident.
The impression have a affect on him in his childhood and is never
forgotten.
Since then he is one of the lucky ones to get in to Starfleet
Academy. He achieves for 1 year to become editor of the academy's
newspaper, in which he writes articles about the first activities
fought by the rebel group the Marquis against Cardassia.
It is from the space station Deep Space Nine Harry Kim comes
aboard USS Voyager as ensign in the year 2371. After that he and
the others aboard strands 70.000 light years from known space in
a matter of a split second.
When he is relaxing he is on the holodeck with a version of the
epic poem "Beowulf", in which he self plays the lead.
About the actor:
Garrett Wang is a child of Chinese immigrants in the USA and the
family moves from place to place in his childhood. He himself moves
later on to Los Angeles, where he is admited in to the University
of California Los Angeles (UCLA) with major in Asian. At the same
time he tries himself out playing some theatre.
After having graduated Garrett Wang has it all going as an actor
and slowly works up a career mostly on a theatre stage. As the character
ensign Harry Kim in "Star Trek: Voyager" he has seriously made a
name and the best paid job ever.
