About the character Brunt:
In ferengi society business deals and hunt for profit is crucial
for success in life, and Brunt is liquidator. His job is to make
sure the deals are profitable and to keep the ferengis enough greedy
for new business opportunities. But he gives Quark
a lot of problems, as Quark is the only ferengi, that can see through
his falsh appearance. Also Quark is much more cunning in every respect,
which he envies Quark.
About the character Weyoun:
He is evil and ruthless and is the shape shifters devoted servant,
military strategist and counsellor. His name is Weyoun, and is a
vorta, and to be at more than one place at the time he is cloned
in several copies. He beliefs the shape shifters (can make themselves
into any thing or living creature) is gods and makes sure, that
the warrior race Dominion, their soldiers, wins for their glory.

About the actor:
Born in Oxnard, California he grew up in Lompoc among many brothers
and sisters. His acting career begins in Pacific Conservatory of
the Performing Arts in Santa Monica and completes the Professional
Actor's Training Programme at the University of Washington in Seattle.
He appears in several small, local stage plays and do not move to
Los Angeles until 1980.
Jeffrey Combs auditions for the part as first officer William
T. Riker ("Star Trek: The Next Generation"), but insted
the part is given to Jonathan Frakes,
who ironically enough directs the "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine"
episode "Meridian" (54), in which he gives Jeffrey Combs
the small character as Tiron. Enthusiastic producers are impressed
and it is not the last time he appears. As the ferengi, liquidator
Brunt, that causes problems for Quark on Deep Space Nine, starts
the first steady character in the series, that soon is to include
the clone Weyoun, the devoted vorta of the Dominion, led by the
shape shifters.
