About the character:
Captain Jonathan Archer is a physical strong man in his early 40s,
an indomitable fiery soul driven by a love of adventure and curiosity.
But he has a little fear for the unknown out there. Maybe that is
why he has the opinion, that vulcans prevent the development of
mankind. But he tries to come to terms with his preconceived opinion
since his first officer, T'Pol,
is vulcan. Captain Jonathan Archer has the command of the Enterprise
NX-01.
About the actor:
Born in St. Louis, Missouri Scott Bakula show in his youth interest
for music and starts a rock band, for which he also writes some
of the songs. The music he do not have from strangers, as the parents
are very musical. Since then he is engaged in singing with the St.
Louis Symphony.
But it do not stop with the music, and he starts on the Kansas
University, where he studies jurisprudence. The career takes shape,
as he gets parts on TV. He makes guest appearances in a number of
known TV series as for instance "Matlock", but it is first
with "Quantum Leap", that he through 5 seasons from 1989
to 1993 gets his real breakthrough. But after 97 episodes it is
over, and he continues with small and big projects on TV.
Scott Bakula has never succeeded in becoming a star on the big
screen, but instead he has now an active part in the worlds most
popular science fiction phenomenon. As captain Jonathan Archer he
is to be the main character in Star Trek TV series "Enterprise".
