Worf was security chief aboard the space ship USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D, which now is destroyed (watch the movie "Star Trek: Generations"). Now he arrives at Deep Space Nine, where he gets rank of first officer on the USS Defiant NX7-4205.

Sisko is a little surprised, when a big klingon fleet of warbirds appeares at Deep Space Nine and asks for shore leave. They are not wilde as they usually are and their attendance of space ships makes Sisko to apply help from Worf, who has just been transferred from the Enterprise. He discovers the reason for the klingon mission but do not know, if he will report it to the Federation.

When the klingon empire pull out of the peace agreement with the Federation Sisko is to help Worf decide on, who he will stay loyal to. Divided between his duty and his people Worf tries to resign from Starfleet, which Sisko refuses him to do, as the situation is.

First aired in USA the episode is not divided in two parts. Today "The Way of the Warrior" is only shown as a two part episode. That is why the same date.

During a mission in the worm hole Sisko is spontaneous killed by a plasma leak from the USS Defiant's warp core. One night his father appears for just a moment for then to disappear again without a trace. But he knows now, how he can get him back, but unfortunately it is not that simple...

If the programme is shut down, they could all die - and the situation is worsen gradually for "the secret agent".

An old solar driven vessel arrives through the wormhole with a legendary bajoran aboard. He says he is the Emissary and claims Sisko's place as such. When Sisko is relieved he soon discovers that the new Emissary will reinstate the old oppression customs. But is the new Emissary really speaking for the prophets? O'Brien do not get very much time for Bashir, when Keiko returns home!

Odo suddenly loses the ability to keep a solid form and he sees only one way out: To get back to The Great Link, his people. The Defiant leaves with the patient towards the Dominion, where they are met by the leader herself: She and the others will judge Odo for having killed another shape shifter ("The Adversary"(72)).

Odo is no longer a shape shifter but of flesh and blood, but from The Great Link he knows, that the klingon leader, Gowron, is a shape shifter.
