The brand-new USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D are on its way to the planet Farpoint to gather the last crew members and make the citizens on the planet become members of the Federation, when the godlike Q challenge the new captain on the Enterprise, Jean-Luc Picard, to prove that humans are not a gready, destructive race.
US Air Date: 28 September 1987
Captain Jean-Luc Picard informs his first officer William Riker, that he does not like children, but that he is to make sure he projects that he can!

Something mysterius is going on at the space station on Farpoint and the commandant have apparently not told the whole truth. Suddenly a mysterius space ship twelve times as big as Enterprise arrives...
US Air Date: 28 September 1987
First aired in USA the episode is not divided in two parts. Today "Encounter at Farpoint" is only shown as a two part episode. That is why the same date.

The crew of the science vessel investigating a collapsing star all 80 die mysteriously. Soon the Enterprise is infected by what turn out to be a deadly virus which produces symptoms of intoxication and promiscuity. No one is safe, not even the captain... The computer though finds a similar incident aboard an earlier Enterprise (Star Trek episode "The Naked Time" (7)), but the medical solution is no longer effective.
US Air Date: 5 October 1987
Natasha Yar goes to bed with Data. Wesley is taking part of saving Enterprise.

A vaccine that can save millions of lifes can only be retrieved on a certain planet, which cultur is based on honour. The leaders fascination of Tasha Yar makes him abduct her to his own purpose and captain Picard who is bound by the Starfleet regulations accepts his security chief is to fight a battle to the death.
US Air Date: 12 October 1987
Data insults captain Picard when he criticizes the French language (the captain himself is of French descent). Data tells Geordi a joke in his attempt to grasp humour. Wesley is allowed to stay on the bridge.

Enterprise is chasing a ferengi space ship when the race has stolen an energy converter. When no one has seen a ferengi before and know their technology, it is likely that the ferengies are the cause of the Enterprise being frozen in space.

A man and his assistent is by the Federation send on board the Enterprise to improve Enterprise's performance. When Enterprise is at warp the optimizing begins but the speed is enormous and sends the Enterprise a billion light years away from its position to a bizarre galaxy where your thoughts are turned into reality.

Wesley Crusher finds a new friend in the alien arriving. He later on in i confidence tells captain Picard, that Wesley is a special boy who is to be encouraged to use his skills without knowing about his amazing gift. Result: Wesley is appointed an ensign.

Enterprise is transporting two adversary civilisations to a peace conference. This tricky job is made even more difficult when the ship is invaded by a third not physical alien life form.
US Air Date: 2 November 1987
Data is inadvertently by captain Picard inspired to solve the mystery with the help of the fiction detective Sherloch Holmes.

Poor Wesley Crusher is sentenced to death for violation a law on the pastoral planet of Rican Three and captain Picard must now try to free Wesley without making the object in front of Enterprise angry.

The ferengi DaiMan Bok offers captain Jean-Luc Picard a gift: USS Stargazer NCC-2893, the first spaceship he commanded. Besides the oddly in a gift from the usually profit seaking ferengies a mysteriously headache tortures Picard. The past brings something that happened 9 years ago...

Wesley is reminded of the commando structure aboard a starclass space ship in the Starfleet.

On their way to a Federation colony in need for medical assistance after an accident, space is blocked by Q ("Encounter at Farpoint" (Part 1 & Part 2) (1+2)) who this time is interested in first officer William Riker. A new dangerous test from Q awaits.

Deanna Troi is faced with the prospect of honouring the betazoid customs by entering into an arranged marriage. Not even a broken hearted Riker is prepared for the events that follow. Meanwhile a vessel is slowly approaching which can be endangering the planet Haven the Enterprise is orbiting.

The crew meets Deanna Troi's eccentric mother, Lwaxana.

Jean-Luc Picard, Data, Beverly Crusher and another crew member are on the holodeck, when a malfunction makes it dangerous to be there. And they cannot get out.

Captain Picard reveals himself as a big fan of the fiction detective Dixon Hill, whose I he plays on the holodeck.

Enterprise is en route to the remote Omicron Theta star system to visit Datalore - the planet where Data was build. When they arrive they discover a world devoid of all life. However, hidden away, is the keeper of a deadly secret.

Some where on Angel One are the survivors of a freighter struck by an asteroid seven years earlier. The female run government want the survivors, all men, taken back. However the survivors do not want to leave. Meanwhile Beverly Crusher is fighting a virus that slowly pacifies the crew.
US Air Date: 25 January 1988
Romulan vessels are in the proximity of The Neutral Zone. As a virus brings down the crew one by one Geordi takes over the command.

The Enterprise is having its computersystem upgraded by an alien race called the bynars. They are perfect for the job as they are interdependent with computers. But it seem they have their own plans.

Legendary negotiator admiral Mark Jameson beams on board the Enterprise to complete a mission, where he is helping rescue some Federation hostages from the planet Mordan IV. However, the planets governor wants Jameson dead. And is the admiral really getting younger...?

During a visit on a planet which is being terraformed, a laser drill inexplicably attacks Data. The possible cause is a microbrain, a crystalline life force that threatens to destroy the Enterprise.

Wesley beams down to Relva 7 to take a gruelling Starfleet Academy exam. Meanwhile, Picard is the subject of a competency investigation, conducted by a soon to be very unpopular second officer Dexter Remmick, as he asks the crew some extremely personal questions about the captain - and no one knows why....

Wesley fails his first entrance examination to Starfleet Academy. Captain Picard reveals in confidence to Wesley, that he also failed first time he applied.


Coming of Age

"Heart of Glory"

Worf finds his loyalties devided when the survivors of a crippled talarian freighter are taken on board the Enterprise. The survivors are klingons and their story of being attacked by the ferengi does not hold water.

During a rescuing mission on a freighter, the bridge of the Enterprise receives a signal from Geordi's VISOR (Visual Input Sensory Optical Reflector), who shows colours and contours.

"The Arsenal of Freedom"

The Enterprise arrives at the lifeless planet Minos in search of the missing USS Drake. They are met by a long dead salesman peddling the secret that became his own destruction.

Temporarily, Geordi gets the command of the Enterprise.

Studying a natural phenomenon Enterprise receives a distress call. They find a cargo ship with six aboard - only four survives, as they are more concerned to beam their cargo to safety. Two planets, Ornara and Brekka need each other. The people of Ornara are dying and the brekkans have the cure. But doctor Crusher discover something is wrong...

On the way back from a conference a situation arise forcing Deanna Troi and another member of the crew to crash land their shuttlecraft on Vagra 2. Here an evil entity, a powerful slick called Armus, prevents the rescue. To demonstrate it's powers Tasha Yar is mercilessly killed!

Security chief Natasha Yar dies. Worf takes over as security chief.

The past catches up with Jean-Luc Picard. The fabric of the universe has a hole ripped in it. The man responsible is married to an old flame of Picard.

On course to a recreation spot in space Enterprise receives a confidential transmission for the captain. On a deserted planet captain Jean-Luc Picard secretly meets with his old friend captain Walker, who tells an incredible story about the Federation being infiltrated (as suggested in the episode "Coming of Age" (19)). Is it a conspiracy? Picard must find the truth, that leads the Enterprise back to Earth!

"The Neutral Zone"

While waiting for the return of captain Picard who is at an emergency meeting, Data is allowed to investigate an old space capsule which is containing three cryogenic frozen people. When captain Picard returns he puts the intire Enterprise on red alert, as outposts close to the Neutral Zone possibly have been destroyed by romulans, who has not been seen for more than 50 years.
