A Sherlock Holmes program is acting strangely and when Geordi asks
Reginald Barclay find the cause, the holodeck character professor
Moriarty ("Elementary, Dear Data" (29)) shows itself. 4 years back
captain Picard promised to give the self-aware holodeck character
a life outside the holodeck, and now he will stop at nothing to
achieve his goal. Only too late Moriarty's (plan) is discovered,
which is catastrophic as an exploding star is threatening the Enterprise
with destruction.

The USS Enterprise finds Starfleet's little space station near the
klingon border abandoned whith exception of a dog and a clue pointing
against a recently commited murder. Geordi starts looking through

clues, but ends up being in love with this unusual, young woman.

Meanwhile, Data is astounded by his own behaviour. He has started
dreaming about his creator, doctor Noonien Soong.

Riker, Deanna, Beverly, Geordi and Data attends a reception down
on the planet.

with the cardassians, the klingons, and the romulans in solving
a 4 billion year old mystery of creation.

Beverly Crusher awaits a hearing, that can cost her her career in
Starfleet. Guinan let her think back to what has happened: Reyga,
a ferengi scientist, who has invented a shield resisting enormous
of radiation and high temperatures, is resisted among scientists,
and that is why she invites them on board. The test of the shield
means the death of a scientist and soon after his unsuccessful experiment,
Reyga is found dead. It looks like suicide, but doctor Crusher thinks
he was murdered.

Captain Picard gives Worf a leave of absence in the search for his
klingon beliefes, which is completed, if he on the holy planet sees
the greatest klingon warrior in all times, K'ahless, who for a 1000

of flesh and blood. However, in every respect it is K'ahless, who
has returned from the dead to claim his empire back.

The Enterprise has arrived a planet to get data from the computer
on the former Federation base. Riker was at the base, when the planet

when the two Rikers have to go on a mission together.

arrives to find the outpost scientists dead. The away team is then
attacked by borg soldiers, who act strangely and seem to focus their
attention on Data. Data, who is incapable of feelings, sense rage
that makes him kill a borg. A rage, he to Deanna Troi confess was
followed by pleasure.
