The series demand hugh resources to produce, as many of the special
effects has not been invented yet in the 1960s and therefore is
a time-consuming factor in the production. The series is nearly
taken off the air after season 2 in the light of Gene Roddenberry's
lack of compromises, but the series continues, when over one million
protesting letters speaks their own language. However, the series
close down after just one more season, when the commercials booked
in blocks when broadcasted, do not fit the viewers of the series
and that the series show loses. But facts are that the last season is moved to late Friday night and on that account get low ratings. The NBC network airing the TV series broadcasts the episodes randomly. This guide guide display the episodes as it was intended.

Comment:
Then as it is now a production code is attached to each episode
that is produced by a TV series. It is consecutive and indicates
the chronological sequence of the episodes. But still NBC do not
broadcast "Star Trek" in the right sequence. The Star
Trek Guide is arranging the episodes correctly. In 1967 Desilu Studios
is merged with Paramount.
